More than just a friend!!?

Ok, so here's the picture.. I'm TOTALLY in love with my best friend!! He was dating a girl, who dumped him recently, and he's still in that mourning period.. The main reason for the break up was apparently me, cause everyone thinks we're having this "affair" going on just cause we hang out a lot.. He tells me he's over her, but i can sense his pain.. I am trying to get him outta that dejected mood, but he just pretends he's happy without her.. I really do love him, and i totally thinks he deserves someone way better than her! I donno what to do, whether to tell him how i feel, wait for him, or just get over him(which is next to impossible)! Please help! Thanks..
