Why do so many females deny the importance of a man's income, yet gravitate towards it?

I'm aiming for a life where I can completely support myself so I don't find myself gravitating towards men who have loads of money. I'm in uni so socialise with blokes who are also students, and they don't exactly have cash coming out of their ears! I'm sure there are lots of women out there who like men with lots of money, but I can't speak for them. At the end of the day, I want a man who's good looking and has a great personality, and money can't buy those things! Or are you going to tell me what I want despite never having met me?
