Why are people and muslims of weak faith believing the lies about islam?

iam a muslim, and i read this anti islam article about islam (full of lies and false translations of the quran), and the story was about a muslim apostate who left islam for atheism. i was truly gobsmacked about the incorrect things they say about islam. and its also Christian websites who are doing this, who are making up lies about islam because there own religion is flawed. so why are young muslims of weak faith believing the lies about islam? i would much like my fellow muslims opinion.
