Tennesse Walker loosing his running walk?
How long has she owned the horse? It may also be a saddle problem. A sweet, calm horse may tolerate an uncomfortable saddle for a long time before acting out. Does he get anxious or move away when he sees you coming with the saddle? A pace is easier than a 4 beat gait and your horse would prefer to move in a pace and/or trot as a result...once they learn that they can get away with it they will continue it...therefore do not allow poor gaiting behavior. As mentioned above, move the horse from a slow walk to a flat walk and continue to ask for impulsion. If he falls out of gait perform a half halt and collect him.
